Stepping Stones Baby Bank was founded in 2020 during the Coronavirus lockdown when it became clear that more people needed a helping hand with providing the essentials to their children. Our founder has worked previously with other baby banks but the need to expand and reach more people led to the creation of Stepping Stones. We are here to help children from pre-mature babies all the way through to 10 years old.
We accept pre-loved donations that can be sorted and allocated to those in need referred to us by health care professionals, social workers and hopefully in the future, private referrals. We also are on a mission to fundraise for those items that cannot be donated such as toiletries.
We aim to help everybody that needs a helping hand including those with new babies, people who unexpectedly find themselves in need of a helping hand as well as re-housed individuals and those referred to us by social workers and healthcare professionals.
At the moment we are a small organisation so all of our donations are dropped off to be sorted which can be organising by sending us a message via our facebook page which can be found here: FACEBOOK PAGE LINK
We are open to donations from 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday but please do message us to arrange a time to drop off your donations as well as what you will be donating to us so we have an idea of what to expect.
Child poverty is not just something that you see on the tv, it also happens here in the UK. Children that grow up in poverty can be more likely to have health problems such as poor nutrition, slower growth and development and mental health difficulties. We try to ensure that every child isn’t disadvantaged and has access to the same opportunities as others. We want all children to start life with an even playing field.
